Musee de Cluny Paris

Category: Paris Museums – admin – 7:12 am

Musee de Cluny is a museum in the district of “Ile de la Cite” about art in the middle ages. Exhibits of the museum are illuminations, furniture, and art handicrafts.

The museum is accommodated in a late Gothic city palace from the 3rd century. The biggest attraction of Musee de Cluny is the round hall with six tapestries of the “lady and the unicorn”. Five of the wall hangings allegorise the five senses. The meaning of the sixth tapestry is unknown. This is the big mystery of the museum.
