Musee Carnavalet shows the chequered history of Paris from Roman time until today. The biggest attractions are house models which allow insight to the historical past of Parisian city planning, as well as many paintings and other interesting objects, such as original clothes from former times.
Well worth seeing is also the room of Marcel Proust, in which he wrote “Searching the lost time”. Musee Carnavalet is located in the Marais district.
