Jardin du Luxembourg is the most important park in the city centre of Paris. The park is located in the district called “Ile de la Cite”, close to the Sorbonne university.

The oasis of flowers and trees was created at the beginning of the 17th century. It was Maria of Medici who gave the order to build a park and an appendant palace. Jardin du Luxembourg arose according to Florentine paragons.
Today Jardin du Luxembourg is the headquater of the French senate.
