Ile de la Cite Paris

Category: Paris District – admin – 7:31 am

Ile de la Cite is the heart of Paris. Already in Roman time this place was the foundation stone for todays Paris. The best examples of Gothic architecture can be admired in this precious part of Paris. One of those sensations is the world famous church known as “Notre Dame”.

Another intersting sight in Ile de la Cite are the fortified towers of the Conciergerie, as well as Sainte-Chapelle.

Ile de la Cite has a mediaeval and active character. The population of the district is bourgeois and intellectual oriented. There are a lot of publishers and booksellers as well. Of course also the amount of coffee houses is amazing. The district is overcrowded with tourists.
