Bois de Boulogne is known as the green lung of the French capital in the Western part of the city. The whole area has a size of 8 1/2 square kilometres.
Bois de Boulogne offers many footpaths, bike lanes, and bridle ways. The place was very popular among the aristocracy during the 18th century. Many summer residences were built during those times. One of the most famous ones is the little castle called “Bagatelle” in “Parc de Bagatelle”.
At the beginning of the 20th century Bois de Boulogne became the sophisticated meeting place of the Parisians.
“Jardin d’Acclimatation” is also part of the popular park. Jardin d’Acclimatation is a little paradise for children.
